BulkSMS.com launches Web-based STOP SMS service in the UK

BulkSMS.com has launched a user-friendly STOP SMS service that allows users in the UK to block spam text messages via an innovative and user-friendly Web-based interface.

The innovative service allows a user to unsubscribe from an SMS mail list or stop unwanted SMS messages from the www.bulksms.co.uk Web site. Users need only to follow the online instructions to unsubscribe or stop receiving text messages from a third-party.

The Web service is offered as an alternative to the BulkSMS.co.uk text message channel where a user can unsubscribe or stop SMS messages by simply replying to the received message with `STOP`. This prevents any further unwanted messages.

The service goes a long way to reduce the cost and time of handling SMS spam complaints that are usually routed via a user`s network provider and then to the relevant wireless application service provider.

The BulkSMS STOP SMS function means that a user does not need to deal with any third-party. By using the Web service or sending one SMS a user is instantaneously unsubscribed from a phone list.

The STOP SMS service is specific to unwanted SMS messages received though the BulkSMS.co.uk gateway from a BulkSMS.co.uk client.

BulkSMS.co.uk sends the client an e-mail to confirm the STOP request. The user`s number is also added to a `blocked` list. In the event the client inadvertently sends an SMS message to that user`s number again, the SMS message will be blocked.

The BulkSMS.co.uk STOP SMS feature complies with international code of conduct requirements for wireless application service providers to offer users an unsubscribe function for unwanted text messages.
