In what is a highly competitive marketplace, Business Connexion has secured a five-year IT outsource deal with the Department of Water Affairs, affirming the company's ability to create and add value to its clients.
The value of this contract is R420 million excluding any projects and CPI, making it one of the largest IT outsource deals at Business Connexion.
Three top ICT companies, namely Business Connexion, T-Systems and EOH were shortlisted, resulting in Business Connexion being awarded the deal. This deal comes as a result of co-ordinated cross-divisional expertise, combined with technology platforms and solutions - both of which only Business Connexion has the scale and expertise to deliver.
The services that will be provided in this deal include:
* Desktop support;
* Server support for Microsoft, Linux, Solaris Unix;
* Security and patch management;
* Database management for Informix and Microsoft SQL;
* Storage and backup management; and
* Application development and support services.
