Business Connexion was recognised as Cisco's Partner of the Year at the recent Cisco Local Partner Summit held at Emerald Casino in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company walked off with the coveted 2008 Public Sector Partner of the Year award; Customer Advocacy Partner of the Year award and the Data Centre Partner of the Year award.
The award ceremony is aimed at recognising the achievements of Cisco's partners and the awards are received by partners that display exceptional sales and technical abilities in selling and deploying Cisco technology solutions.
Prabashni Pillay, regional sales manager for Channel at Cisco South Africa, says given the current turmoil in the financial markets, partners need to differentiate themselves through value, quality and excellence to ensure success. “Cisco is committed with our partners through investment on training, tools and certifications. Our commitment is recruiting, enabling and activating the channel but with a focus oriented to pre-built industry solutions. Through our Partner Profitability programme, we aim to work with partners like Business Connexion and many others to achieve productivity, cost saving and return on investments.”
Derek Glass, managing executive of Business Connexion's Unified Network Services business unit, says: “We are honoured to be recognised by Cisco as their Partner of the Year in the three categories. These awards demonstrate our services ability through the Customer Advocacy award, and that our vertical focus on the public sector is paying off.”
Business Connexion ensures that clients get the best advice and solutions that meet their requirements, Glass adds. “We get the highest support and recognition from Cisco South Africa. These awards give our clients piece of mind when dealing with us. These awards affirm the depth of our team's skills, capabilities and qualities and show that Business Connexion is a consistent leader in this field.”
Glass point out that the team was measured on several projects that Business Connexion was involved in such as; the South African Research Network, various government and data centre projects and Business Connexion's services ability.
Business Connexion contested this award with luminaries such as Dimension Data, Telkom, BTG and AST Gijima.
