The Microsoft Competency team at Business Connexion came out top at the recent Microsoft annual Partner Summit and awards ceremony, walking off with the coveted Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Competency Award. The awards ceremony is aimed at recognising the achievements of Microsoft`s partners, with the infrastructure solutions award going to the partner that displays expertise in designing and/or implementing complex infrastructure solutions based on the Microsoft technology.
"We received the award based on our expertise in designing and implementing innovative and cost-effective solutions. These solutions incorporate technologies such as Active Directory, data management, hosting and storage solutions and systems management," says Jacques Loubser, managing executive for Microsoft Competency at Business Connexion.
"This award is about the realisation of a particular technology within a customer environment. It is also about recognising the partner or organisation that has the specific skills to deliver a complex infrastructure into the market."
He points out that the team was not measured on a single project, rather on several case studies and large projects that Business Connexion was involved in.
For Business Connexion to have won this, means it scored well across the length and breadth of all its projects.
"An example of the type of project we were evaluated on is one where we delivered a solution for a government institution. This project involved the architecture and design of solutions in order to deliver services to over 10 000 users. The project demonstrates our ability to deliver at enterprise level," says Loubser.
"There are certain awards we consider to be well worth winning, and this is most definitely one of them, as we are very focused at the enterprise level."
He claims one need only look at other players that were nominated to understand how important this category is. Business Connexion contested this award with luminaries such as Dimension Data, Global Micro Solutions, Integr8 IT, iSolve Business Solutions and Symetrix.
"The benefits of winning this award are all usual ones, such as making clients aware that we have the skills and competency to provide the services they require. It will also help us gain new business in the future."
"Ultimately, this award would ensure the market is aware we are strong and consistent leaders in this field.
"It is also an affirmation of the depth of our team`s skills, capabilities and qualities. Additionally, when you`re going head to head with some of your bigger rivals, it is of course very pleasing to be the one winning," he concludes.
