Project and portfolio management service provider, Post Vision Technology, has announced that it will be launching its new partner programme early next year. The company has already started the certification process so that current and aspiring partners have the opportunity to obtain the necessary accreditation before the new term kicks off.
According to Guy Jelley, CEO of Post Vision, partner accreditation and grading have become critically important in order to give potential customers better insight into the level of ability when engaging a Post Vision partner for the implementation of PPO (Project Portfolio Office), Post Vision's locally developed project management software.
Provided on a SaaS platform, PPO is available on a hosted and rental basis over the Internet and assists organisations across different industries to manage projects and project portfolios.
Currently, PPO implementation and consulting partner Business Connexion (BCX) has set out to become one of the first partners to become certified and graded in line with the new programme's four key areas, namely training, sales and marketing, implementation and support.
“We welcome the new partner model as it will differentiate the various Post Vision partners according to skill and experience,” says Andre Engelbrecht, Services Executive: Project Services at Business Connexion. “Our aim is to complete all the necessary requirements to obtain the highest accreditation as soon as possible. We have already invested in the training certification programme, one of the key areas of the partner programme, and being a certified training partner will enable us to conduct training and thereby create another value offering for our customers.”
Since partnering with Post Vision about a year ago, Business Connexion has been providing services and support to a range of PPO clients, in particular a number of implementations which required configuring the software according to customers' specific requirements to ensure a perfect fit for their organisations.
“We have now reached a point where it has become beneficial to pre-configure PPO for vertical industries such as the mining and financial sectors, because organisations operating in the same industries often work in similar project environments and follow common project management methodologies.
“This reduces the implementation time and enables customers to start using the tool immediately without much fine-tuning. Customers who do not have processes in place not only get a tool, but also a starting point for their projects already aligned to best practices. It further allows the Business Connexion team to spend more time on the softer requirements such as change management,” Engelbrecht explains.
Says Jelley: “Business Connexion is able to support customers and respond to opportunities across the continent, as it has offices in all the major business centres in South Africa and five in Africa, namely Nigeria, Tanzania, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. This is a major advantage for us because it ensures extensive PPO representation. Business Connexion is also keen to build capacity in terms of sales people and support resources according to the demand.”
According to Engelbrecht, the awareness around PPO has grown significantly in the last year and due to the flexibility of the application, it can fit into almost any environment. This ability has aligned PPO perfectly to the current market trend of companies looking for solutions that can provide quick return on investment (ROI) and enable them to track results.
PPO can be implemented in cycles, allowing a company to complete one stage and start using the application to track project progress and results while continuing to roll out the next phases. PPO's dashboard reporting also enables management to get an immediate and comprehensive overview of the company's project portfolio, giving them a clear indication of where the value lies or highlighting problem areas.
“In order to benefit optimally from PPO, it is vital to perform a complete analysis of the project environment prior to implementation so that the software can be configured accurately from the outset,” Engelbrecht concludes.
