Business Connexion will be hosting the MyWorld of Tomorrow Africa EXPO (MWOT), a first of its kind, Business Connexion-facilitated technology exhibition and conference, to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, from 16 to 18 October 2014.
The event is a fresh platform for various types of technology brands and businesses to exhibit technology solutions, ideas and innovations that will build the next generation of techno-savvy African enterprises and individuals in different industries.
"We have a firm understanding of our role as African leaders in the industry, and we're stretching our relationships with our ecosystem of leading technology vendors and thought leaders to deliver a unique, world-class empowering experience for the continent," said Matthew Blewett, Business Connexion Chief Operations Officer.
The MyWorld of Tomorrow Africa EXPO is a manifestation of Business Connexion's mission statement: To enrich communities by making the impossible possible, through technology and a proactive approach to the further development of information and communications technology into priority development areas such as business, education, health and the environment.
Although Business Connexion's current target audience is large enterprises, this event will also have a distinct consumer focus, aimed at bridging the already narrowing gap between large technology producers and the man on the street.
"The continent's access to technology is growing, and we know that the real power of interactive technology lies with people, particularly the youth, so we will also be engaging the youth of the continent, not only to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and ability to adapt and utilise technology to make a positive impact in their lives, but also creating platforms for them to share how they see the future impact of technology on our continent," said Blewett.
Another key priority of the EXPO is the empowerment of small businesses. Specific areas will be dedicated to addressing small business technology challenges and opportunities. "We have some exciting initiatives lined up to expand their knowledge of technology and the enterprise, so that they are able to play a much bigger role in the continent's economic and social development," said Benjamin Mophatlane, Business Connexion Chief Executive Officer.
Both African and international delegates, exhibitors, speakers, thought leaders and media will be invited to take part in the event that will set the agenda for technology solutions for the African continent.
The MyWorld of Tomorrow EXPO will bring together five zones never before realised in an event of this nature. A Conference Zone will provide space for learning and sharing ideas about our future. The Launch and Demonstration Zone will provide a unique venue for the launch and demonstration of new products facilitated by strong media presence. The EXPO Zone will showcase technology solutions for the future provided by the leading technology companies and targeted at diverse communities from business, to government, to the consumer. The Experience Zone will provide unique spaces where visitors can experience the technological future in a participative way; a fun experience for young and old. Finally, the Connexion Zone will provide unique spaces where event delegates can connect and imagine the future. Learn. See. Touch. Experience. Connect, with MyWorld of Tomorrow.
