Business continuity tested
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) has announced the launch of its first certificate examination for business continuity professionals, says Continuity Central.
At the 17th Annual World Conference on Disaster Management in Toronto, Canada, BCI introduced the exams that start in October 2007, with additional exam dates occurring quarterly.
Based on its good practice guidelines, the BCI Certificate examination will form part of a validation process for business continuity professionals who wish to join the BCI.
Government surveyed on disaster recovery
Twenty-nice percent of Irish government departments have no business continuity strategy in place and have no plans to implement any in the foreseeable future, says Silicon Republic.
When the 250 IT decision-makers were questioned from both the public and private sector, it emerged that all public sector organisations were familiar with legislation regarding business continuity and recovery service.
In the financial sector, 3% were not up to scratch with the legislation, in comparison with 7% in the construction industry.
