Business, financial software specialist Logic Group appoints new MD

Business and financial software solutions company Logic Group has appointed financial director Carlien Thomson as managing director, following the resignation of current MD, Errol Wills.

Thomson said a recent strategic planning meeting decided that Logic Group will revert to being a pure holding company, focused on its Lorge, 4most and Consilia Consult subsidiary companies, which provide commerce and industry with Sage ERP Accpac, Sage ERP X3, Sage CRM, SAP Business One, and Qlikview business and financial software solutions.

“The board has decided that Logic Group is better suited to playing the role of holding company, providing HR, marketing, advertising, administration, financial and other support services to the three operating companies, Lorge, 4most and Consilia Consult,” said Thomson. “The companies have strong track records and excellent reputations in the provision, implementation, support and customisation of Sage, SAP Business One and Qlikview.”

Thomson added that the subsidiary companies' managing directors Derek Porter and Eugene Olivier will retain responsibility for the operation and management of Lorge and 4most respectively, while Tyron Scott remains general manager of Consilia Consult. “Our Lorge Botswana operation based in Gaborone will continue to operate as usual. I am sure that Logic Group's reversion to the role of holding company and the focus on the various Sage ERP and CRM offerings, SAP Business One solutions and Qlikview Business Intelligence software will lay a strong platform for future growth.”

Wills said he had commenced phasing out his role in Logic Group immediately to enable the company to continue business as usual. He added that he had enjoyed his eight years at the helm, first with Lorge and then with Logic Group, and wished the company ongoing success from the strong base that had been established.
