Cognos South Africa, the leading strategic vendor of enterprise business intelligence solutions, has introduced a new five-day training course designed exclusively for Cognos channel partners to ensure successful systems implementation and to help Cognos partners differentiate themselves in the market.
Called the Business Intelligence (BI) Hothouse, the course is being held at Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg on a monthly rotating basis and will be conducted by systems integrators and BI training specialists Quantum Systems Integrator, a member of the PQ Africa Group.
BI Hothouse is part of a worldwide Cognos initiative to ensure its partners receive superior product and implementation knowledge that can dramatically shorten sales cycles and maximize benefits from the customer`s technology investment.
"The course has been designed to help participants gain a better understanding of Cognos` suite of business intelligence tools, the technology and business needs of the market and best-practice implementation methodology," says Gavin Lipshitz, senior manager, business intelligence, Quantum.
"They`ll be able to grow their skills by working through a business intelligence implementation life cycle that allows them to interact with application users, build prototypes and present the results to other course delegates."
The courses, which are being limited to 15 people per course, are based on training that Cognos has extensively tested and perfected in the United Kingdom, and focus on teamwork and customer service.
"The BI Hothouse and the many other features of the Cognos Reseller Program help Cognos partners take advantage of the growing Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing markets by differentiating themselves from other partners who are simply selling technology," says Ralph Pecker, managing director, Cognos South Africa.
"Cognos` commitment to its channel and the depth and breadth of knowledge in the business intelligence marketplace puts us in a unique position of being the only vendor who can train our partners to turn data warehousing technology into business solutions.
