Medscheme Data Warehouse, a division of South African medical schemes management company Medscheme Holdings, has been awarded a Business Objects Customer Excellence Award for 2003. The award was presented at Business Objects` annual user conference held recently in Kyalami, Johannesburg.
"Our customer awards are an annual recognition of innovation, presented to a company that uses business intelligence (BI) to gain a better understanding and insight into their business, which ultimately results in tangible business benefits for the organisation," says Gary Lawrence, country manager of Business Objects.
"We congratulate Medcheme who have embraced our solution and have integrated BI into their strategy to increase revenue and obtain operational efficiency."
Medscheme was nominated for the award by Bytes Business Solutions, supplier and Business Objects solutions and related professional services.
Comments Michelle Rundle, account manager at Bytes Business Solutions: "Medscheme has been using Business Objects since 1997 and has indeed taken a leading role in exploiting the capabilities of the company`s BI solutions."
Significantly, Medscheme was the first company in SA to use Business Objects` Web interface solution that allows reports to be accessed via the Internet by diverse users such as scheme trustees, brokers and internal staff, which in turn improves service delivery.
Due to Medscheme`s innovative and extensive use of Business Objects, the company has been requested on a number of occasions to present papers on BI - driven by Business Objects` products - at local and international conferences.
