Business Objects, the world`s leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that it has been named to the Business 2.0 100 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies list.
The ranking, which appears in the June 2006 issue of Business 2.0, is based on growth in revenue, profit and operating cash flow during the past three years, and the 12-month stock return as of 31 December 2005.
"Business Objects` inclusion in the Business 2.0 100 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies list is an important reflection of our sustained success over the past three years," said John Schwarz, CEO of Business Objects.
"This achievement is based on several factors - our constant innovation, our relentless focus on customer success, and our ability to deliver solutions that help our customers innovate and solve business problems that improve their bottom line. There is no limit to how our software can be applied to change a business or an industry, and our customers prove this again and again every day."
A great example of how business intelligence leads to business innovation is Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), a physician-owned, privately held medical group that manages 17 hospital emergency rooms in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan areas. EMA uses customised dashboards from Business Objects to scour for unusual spikes in various medical symptoms reported in the emergency rooms, providing the first fully functional, widespread biosurveillance system in the United States. For example, every winter EMA uses Business Objects to track for spikes in flu symptoms in order to alert other hospitals to the potential of a widespread flu epidemic.
"BusinessObjects XI is much more than a software solution," said Jonathan Rothman, director of data management at Emergency Medical Associates. "It is a change agent for us - we can create dashboards to literally track anything our medical teams want to analyse and improve. This gives us real insights that allow us to make changes that constantly improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of our care. Every day our physicians and emergency room directors are coming up with innovative ways to apply the software."
BusinessObjectsXI Release 2, the latest version of the Business Objects business intelligence platform, exemplifies the company`s focus on innovation, by introducing creative new products like BusinessObjects Intelligent Question. A breakthrough product that allows anyone to intuitively ask business questions and receive correct answers, Intelligent Question extends business intelligence to an entirely new audience of non-technical users. This is another milestone in providing customers with a foundation to innovate their businesses by unlocking information and delivering it widely to employees, partners, suppliers and customers.
