S1 Corporation today announced that it has established a global relationship with Business Objects, the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions. S1 and Business Objects plan to work together to deliver solutions that enable financial institutions to easily extract, process and analyze reports in order to make more informed business decisions.
As part of this agreement, S1 plans to incorporate software from Business Objects into its online analytical processing (OLAP) solution, FiRE Data Analyzer. Specifically, the product bundles BusinessObjects and WebIntelligence to enable customers to more effectively report their financial data. Data Analyzer is targeted at financial institutions to help users conduct fiscal risk measurement and fulfill ad-hoc and management reporting needs. It meets emerging standards for Internet-based connectivity and HTML-based financial reports.
"According to Meridien Research, financial institutions spend one billion dollars a year addressing their statutory reporting obligations to central banks and other regulators, yet it is estimated that 90 percent of information required is already available within their existing IT systems," said Joanna Declercq, product marketing manager for S1's Financial Reporting Systems (FRS) group. "Business Objects technology enables our 600 FiRE customers, located in 18 countries, to extract and process this data, then analyze reports and distribute them to management and other users within their organizations -all within a non-technical, Web-based environment."
According to Bill Robinson, vice president of North American channels at Business Objects, "S1 has already delivered powerful products, technologies and services to many of the world's best known retail and corporate banks, brokerage firms and insurance companies. We're excited to work with S1 to help financial institutions identify sound fiscal opportunities, and avoid potential economic risks using the convenience and power of the Internet."
FiRE Financial Reporting is S1's advanced consultancy and product offering for regulatory, statutory, and internal financial reporting. It is the successor to the globally successful ABACUS product, currently used by over 600 financial institutions worldwide. FiRE comprises a core data warehousing application, the FiRE Solution, that provides comprehensive reporting functionality for the regrouping, standardization and consolidation of your data, and for creating and validating your financial reports. FiRE Data Analyzer and FiRE Financial Calculator are satellite solutions that integrate with FiRE to provide additional financial reporting functions.
