Business process and activity monitoring tool from JMR Software, Nastel

Nastel Technologies` AutoPilot, represented in SA by JMR Software, is a widely acclaimed e-business solution that enables companies to interact more efficiently with their customers, partners and suppliers by affording them complete control of critical message flow across multiple systems.

AutoPilot is a management framework designed expressly to work with the IBM WebSphere middleware components suite of advanced patent-pending management technologies. It is the first solution to provide true end-to-end business process and activity monitoring. It provides centralised management and control over the complex distributed environments found in most organisations.

As a distributed system can have various points of failure, AutoPilot manages all of the components and supports a variety of users through customised monitors that provide alerts on problems specific to a user`s area of responsibility.

"AutoPilot provides a unique 'self-healing` management environment that proactively catches problems so that they can be corrected before they impact operations. This means that the need for human intervention in the management of an organisation`s middleware is minimised, reducing the organisation`s reliance on highly skilled technical staff," says Leon Theron, Sales and Marketing Director of JMR Software.

The proactive monitoring for real-time detection and immediate correction provided for by AutoPilot drastically reduces downtime and performance bottlenecks. These capabilities will be particularly attractive to companies with high-availability requirements or strict service-level agreements, or those seeking to automate the management of the supply chain.

AutoPilot also offers business activity monitoring, which Gartner predicts will be the next wave of business integration spending.

The AutoPilot for WebSphere suite of products is a completely java-based solution for maximum efficiency and flexibility. It provides monitoring, high-availability, unimpeded throughput and proactive fault isolation functionality that is fully platform independent.

"The WebSphere platform contains a range of technologies, so a unified management system like AutoPilot is needed," says Theron. "There is an enormous need for companies to monitor and manage critical business processes in real-time, across the entire corporation as well as externally. AutoPilot provides a view of the full business process as it crosses application and corporate boundaries."

"AutoPilot is a powerful tool which provides added-value to organisations by simplifying middleware administration, offering greater management-tool flexibility and breadth, maximising the availability of applications and aligning the IT performance with the business process. It enables organisations to streamline operations and eliminate the redundancies and bottleneck`s that can cost companies millions," concludes Theron.
