Business Wire, the largest global wire service, has chosen IT and financial news portal ITWeb as its Southern Africa partner to expand its services into the continent.
The deal gives ITWeb`s clients access to Business Wire`s worldwide media and investor relations networks, which Nielson/NetRatings estimates to be roughly 120 million users per week.
"As more and more local companies embark on strategies of globalisation, so it becomes critical for them to get their company news into the global environment," says ITWeb founder and MD, Jovan Regasek. "International business is about being visible, if you`re not visible you`re dead."
Business Wire distributes news to more than 16 000 online and database sites worldwide, feeding news directly into editorial computer systems as well as onto desktops used by financial investors.
"There is a tremendous synergy between Business Wire and ITWeb," says Cathy Baron Tamraz, Business Wire`s COO. "Business Wire has successfully positioned itself as the leading international commercial business wire through its exclusive affiliations with many of the world`s leading financial news agencies and information providers.
"ITWeb has earned its reputation as the leading source of IT, telecoms and Internet company news in the South African market. Together, we make a powerful team that is able to provide SA corporations with a sophisticated suite of investor relations and media services," she says.
"Business Wire`s services fit extremely well into our services and will provide our clients a proven and respected conduit to worldwide media and institutional and individual investors," concludes Regasek.
