Bytes becomes Cisco ATP Physical Access Control Partner

Johannesburg, 08 May 2012

Bytes Systems Integration has become an official Cisco Advanced Technology Program (ATP) Physical Access Control Partner in South Africa, through meeting the rigorous Cisco certified personnel levels required.

Bytes Systems Integration, part of the Bytes Technology Group, which in turn is wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron, designs, implements and manages customised IT solutions through the integration of hardware and software systems from global technology leaders like Cisco.

Patrick Hastings, divisional managing director of advanced technology services at BSI, says the partner status helps ensure that Bytes Systems Integration's sales and support organisations are better prepared to properly sell, design, install and support the Cisco ATP programme-specific technology and products.

“This certification truly complements Bytes Systems Integration's current access control and physical security offering with Kronos, Honeywell and other intelligent building management systems offered in the Kronos business unit,” Hastings says.

“It is an outstanding accomplishment for Bytes Systems Integration and further demonstrates our desire to develop expertise in this market. Bytes Systems Integration and the Cisco account management team will continue working together to develop and enhance our mutual capabilities to support our key customers,” he says.

“Two of our top staff members, Jannie Engelbrecht and Mike Ellison, are the drivers behind this project and are currently in the process of deploying a full customer laboratory and demo facility in our fully fledged Cisco laboratory, in Midrand,” says Hastings.

Cisco will recognise Bytes Systems Integration as having achieved this ATP designation in the online Cisco Partner Locator. Bytes Systems Integration has also been accepted onto the Cisco ATP for Video, Tandberg & Telepresence and will very shortly be Cisco-certified to provide a fully integrated and unified collaboration solution. This fully integrated and unified collaboration solution will be able to seamlessly integrate all unified communications (IPT), instant messaging (Microsoft Lync and Cisco Jabber), WebEx, Tandberg Video & Telepresence onto a solitary platform. This will provide a solid platform for a “socially and media” connected future workforce.
