Bytes Document Solutions, the sole authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions in 24 African countries, has partnered with SCI (Service & Computer Industries) to return Xerox products and services to the Ugandan market.
Xerox is an internationally renowned company that offers complete printing solutions for all sizes of companies. It has global operations in more than 160 countries and has proven itself a leader in its class with cutting-edge technologies being added from its very active Research and Development centres.
"SCI has a strong reputation in Uganda as an independent services provider," says Coenraad Ackerman, Africa Operations Manager at Bytes Document Solutions. "The company has entrenched partnerships with some of the world's leading ICT companies, demonstrating a depth of experience that makes it an ideal Ugandan partner for us."
NCR was established in 1962, and SCI took over its Ugandan operations in 1989 and remains the sole representative for the company in the region. It offers the full gamut of IT services, including enterprise, personal computing, retail, security, software, power, support, and printing solutions.
"We are focused, with the support of Bytes Document Solutions, on providing superior delivery and implementation of Xerox products and solutions to our customers and to follow through with quality after-sales support," says Amitava Chatterjee, Project Manager at SCI.
"We are committed to providing the most effective and complete solutions, conforming to international standards, in the area of IT, for organisations and individuals in the East African region. The Xerox equipment from Bytes Document Solutions complements our range with the substance of a global brand."
Chatterjee says SCI's commitment to customers has ensured 90% market share in one area of the business, and it is recognised as the largest Dell representative in the country.
The company employs in excess of 60 field engineers and has six service centres spread throughout the country. The company is also ISO 9000-certified.
Sufficient investment plans are in place to ensure the company's infrastructure and coverage in the country meets its maintenance and support capabilities to fully cover the market. SCI will also make use of the Kenya Inventory Hub that Bytes Document Solutions established earlier this year, which will enable it to service its customers more quickly and cost-effectively. Marketing and branding in the region will be conducted co-operatively between Bytes Document Solutions and SCI.
