Bytes Document Solutions, distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries, has expanded its branch footprint and opened an office in Tshwane.
The new branch, with 43 employees, will enhance the supply of the company's Xerox-related hardware, software and solutions, and services and supplies to the region. This will be in addition to its paper business through its recent acquisition of NOR Paper, the services of digital print bureau LaserCom, and government-focused, black-empowered Pambili Document Solutions.
“Although we've always had a services footprint in the region to facilitate rapid response times, we have substantially expanded that presence to bring sales and technical expertise from our production division and office systems divisions and sister companies NOR Paper and LaserCom directly into the region,” says Tanya Moodley, divisional manager group marketing at Bytes Document Solutions.
We also sell through an extensive network of distributors, dealers, concessionaires and channel partners and are represented in the region through a concessionaire in Centurion and we plan to substantially increase the focus in this sector through this office,” says branch manager Lenard Labuschagne.
Bytes Document Solutions already serves a large number of customers in the region, from education to government and commercial operations, including University of South Africa (Unisa).
The established customer base uses a cross-section of the Xerox range, from direct and on-demand printing to data printing, digital production printing, office printing solutions and retail printers.
“Government and education has a huge presence in the capital city and we will be focusing more on increasing services delivery into these markets. Through our association with Pambili Document Solutions, which recently expanded by opening an office in Tshwane, we already support a strong presence in the Gauteng shared services sector,” says Labuschagne. “We will also be supporting a concerted drive into the office space.
“We're not simply looking to bring the entire range of Xerox and Bytes Document Solutions products and services to organisations in the region to increase our sales; we aim to work with customers to ensure we meet their needs in terms of reducing costs and ongoing expenses, and the need to be environmentally conscious through our green efforts.”
Xerox has innovated a number of technologies aimed specifically at improving printing, copying, scanning and faxing efficiencies, and services, such as document management integration that drives operational efficiencies. Bytes Document Solutions has also emphasised environmental considerations by ensuring paper stocks from eco-friendly suppliers, and it works closely with Xerox around recycling and equipment reuse.
The new branch adds to Bytes Document Solutions' existing infrastructure of 1 400 employees servicing 8 000 customers from 40 South African service centres and 40 sub-Saharan service centres generating in excess of R1.8 billion in annual revenue.
It is situated in the I Parioli Office Park in Hatfield on the corners of Duncan and Park Streets.
