Bytes Document Solutions grows Pretoria base with appointment of Xerotech

Johannesburg, 21 Jul 2009

Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 24 sub-Saharan countries, has appointed Centurion-based Xerotech as a concessionaire.

Xerotech will focus primarily on supplying Xerox's office equipment range and services to organisations in the Pretoria region, and will also offer the extended range that includes production equipment and document management.

“We believe Xerox, through Bytes Document Solutions, offers the best product and after-sales service in South Africa, and we have worked with multiple brands in the past five years,” says David van Lieshout, MD of Xerotech. “There is great potential for us in the corporate and SME market segments; we have trained our staff on the full Xerox range of products and will also capitalise on production equipment-level parastatal and government business as opportunities arise.”

This appointment brings to 23 the number of Bytes Document Solutions dealers and concessionaires across the country, in addition to branches in Durban, Cape Town, Kimberley, Bloemfontein and Pretoria.

“Xerotech has operated in this market for more than five years and has developed a solid track record based on sound experience,” says Ronnie Oeschger, divisional manager, office systems group at Bytes Document Solutions. “They have good business sense and a deep understanding of the Pretoria market and admirably complement our presence in the region.”

Xerotech began preparations to become a concessionaire in July 2007 and now has eight skilled employees to deliver Xerox equipment and services.

Bytes Document Solutions, as with all concessionaires, resolves all support issues, service and maintenance.

“We do have an on-site technician to manage urgent customer queries, but Bytes Document Solutions deals with all after-sales service requirements with a turnaround time that's impossible to beat,” says Van Lieshout.

Xerotech will hold stock of consumables for customers in the region and receive all other equipment from Bytes Document Solutions.
