Bytes Document Solutions hosted Momentum 2007 for local Xerox dealers, concessionaires, partners in Africa and employees to experience the latest Xerox office product range.
The event was held from 18 to 20 October at Emperors Palace, to provide all who attended with product knowledge and hands-on training on all the latest office equipment.
In addition, attendees also received marketing and sales tools that will support them in the field with the latest software and user interface solutions.
"Momentum is designed to keep our partners informed and updated about Xerox`s latest products and the benefits they can offer customers by giving them hands-on experience of each new piece of office equipment," says Ronnie Oeschger, divisional manager of office systems group and channel operations at Bytes Document Solutions, the sole distributor of Xerox products in 24 African countries.
The event is Xerox`s largest training forum, with over 250 delegates attending from across Africa, including countries such as Uganda, Mauritius and Burundi.
Some of the products launched at the event include:
* The Xerox Phaser 4510: This black-and-white network laser printer delivers smart features, greater speed and more memory, and is packed with advanced features to help workgroups of all sizes work more efficiently.
It offers features normally found in higher priced printers, such as high print speed, outstanding print quality and the power to keep up with business-critical print loads, allowing users to focus on their core business rather than printer issues. It also offers Smart Duplex, which saves time and money as the printer detects when a single-sided page is mixed in with two-sided print jobs and automatically passes through the printed side, speeding up print time and eliminating unnecessary wear and tear.
PrintingScout, a feature which provides onscreen print job alerts, tracks print jobs and provides users with immediate corrective suggestions to resolve the issues at hand. Personal Print allows people to download jobs to their own mailbox folder on the printer`s hard drive and print them all at once so they aren`t mixed up with co-workers` documents. Companies can choose from four configurations that offer true 1 200dpi resolution for sharp text and fine detail and Adobe Postscript Level 3, with an optional 40Gb hard drive for additional functionality and more productive features.
* The Xerox DocuColor 242/252/260: These light production digital colour printers and copiers make easy work of printing internal newsletters, presentations, digital photos, posters, catalogues and direct mail pieces.
Colour printing is affordable and professional, with outstanding image quality, a choice of print speeds and feeding capabilities and the ability to handle a wide range of media sizes and weights. There is also a choice of four colour servers for sophisticated colour control and document management and a choice of in-line finishing capabilities. Their competitive advantage lies in the superior print quality and high resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi, enhanced gloss modes and exclusive emulsion aggregation high-grade toner.
* The Xerox WorkCentre 7328/7335/7345: These multifunction devices improve business efficiency, productivity and colour output in office environments. Sporting eight-inch, colourful and easy-to-use graphical user interfaces, these devices can print at 1200x1200 dpi.
With high-definition print engines and full print, scan and fax functionality, they are powerful printing and communication centres. The rated speed, page volume capacity, colour and productivity capabilities position the new WorkCentres for use on print jobs that otherwise would be sent to commercial copy shops. The machines feature Xerox`s emulsion aggregation high-grade toner that enhances the level of print detail and reduces the amount of toner needed.
* The Xerox WorkCentre 7232/7242: These entry-level, colour-capable multifunction devices are designed for the colour-cautious customer, yet are robust enough to keep up with office demands and offer businesses the power to print in colour when needed, delivering higher impact documents.
They offer basic features such as two-sided printing and copying, as well as a number of advanced features that will aid in improving customers` productivity such as job flow sheets. This instruction sheet is linked to a mailbox on the device that distributes documents to specified destinations, such as an e-mail address or fax number. They offer a full range of colour controls, such as Xerox Standard Accounting, that lets offices track use and set limits for their employees.
