Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan countries and a division of Bytes Technology Group, a wholly owned division of JSE-listed Altron, has launched a campaign to focus on Xerox's ability to help companies become ready for real business. The Xerox Business Boost in a Box kicks off with a competition in October and November.
The target market is small and medium business, and the winner will receive a prize worth R250 000 of products and services from Bytes Document Solutions.
This first phase of marketing materials will appear in a range of media, including print, e-mail, direct marketing, online, radio, Facebook and in-store, says Jonathan Stonier, account lead at Wunderman, the full service agency specialising in digital and direct marketing.
“Although this is a new focus for Xerox, the size of the segment warrants that there is a growing awareness and focus to reach new entrepreneurs. The Xerox Business Boost in a Box campaign reaches these entrepreneurs.”
The competition mechanism is via the Web site, www.xerox.co.za, where small and medium-sized business owners can ask entrepreneurial expert Pavlo Phitidis, from Aurik Business Incubator, for help with their most pressing questions. As a business guru, Phitidis is a key part of the competition, and will provide insight and depth for businesses. Phitidis will then choose the business in which the Business Boost in a Box will have the most significant impact.
“What comes in the box will be tailored to the winner's business needs to ensure it makes the biggest possible difference, and takes the business to the next level,” says Rabin Ram, Xerox MD at Bytes Document Solutions.
In the second and third phases, Xerox offers a CSI initiative in a box - which could include a printer, computer and associated technology - to allow entrepreneurs in predominantly informal settlements to start their own small business.
“We believe this campaign helps us reinforce our reputation as the team behind business - helping our customers do great work,” says Ram.
