Bytes Communications is pleased to announce that it can now significantly bolster the contact centre environment of its mid-market customers with the new Genesys Compact edition from Alcatel-Lucent.
“The OmniTouch Premium Edition, that is known by many of our customers as a robust and reliable contact centre solution, will now be rebranded as Genesys Compact Edition, and will provide the perfect solution for companies with up to 150 agents,” says John Swanepoel, Product Manager Contact Centres at Bytes Communications.
The new offering provides an open integrated multi-platform environment and comes as a result of the integration of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Premium Edition, which bundles Genesys contact centre solutions with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server (a PBX), expanding it to become multi-platform, beginning with the Genesys SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) server.
“Genesys Compact adopts a software driven approach that provides customers the ability to seamlessly migrate from their legacy PBX environments to a more flexible SIP environment that supports IP telephony,” he adds.
Based on the open approach of the technology customers can maintain their existing switching infrastructure and begin introducing the new technology into their business at their own pace. In addition, new features will include: simplified configuration and administration for mid-sized enterprises; and access to sophisticated customer contact centre capabilities.
A notable addition to the solution is the software cockpit, or the Alcatel-Lucent Visual Contact Centre. This allows integration between a single user interface, and provides the tools required to configure, control and measure contact centre activities.
“Smaller contact centre environments demand the same capabilities as enterprise customers, but to date the solutions to support this have not been affordable or cost-effective. With the introduction of Genesys Compact we can now offer our customers a true migration path to a superior offering, that can be staggered over time to meet customer requirements and budgets,” ends Swanepoel.
