Bytes People Solutions has won two key awards at the annual Oracle University Awards Ceremony. Against stiff competition, the company first won the Best Sun Trainer for Oracle SA Award, and was then named the Best Overall Partner for Oracle in South Africa.
Oracle product manager Johan Grobler was named best Oracle Trainer of the Year, having garnered 99% in customer feedback for the high quality of his training on Oracle Solaris. Oracle acquired Solaris when it acquired Sun MicroSystems some time back.
“We would like to clone Johan so we can replicate his standard,” says Petr Zemanek, delivery manager, Oracle University, South Africa and Africa operations. “He is simply one of the best in the world. He is an excellent teacher who underscores how important training is, and the value it can add to partners. His attention to detail and dedication set him apart globally.”
“Bytes' training represents a showcase for us,” adds Zemanek. “We pay special attention to such a committed partner.”
“Johan has been with us for more than 13 years,” says Dr Madelise Grobler, MD of Bytes People Solutions, a company in Bytes Technology Group, wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron. “He has maintained a high standard of excellence in his training, and we are delighted to see him acknowledged in this manner.”
The second award was made based on a number of criteria:
* The reliability of the partnership between Oracle and Bytes People Solutions.
* The ease of doing business.
* The value contributed by Bytes People Solutions.
* The amount of business generated.
* The quality of the relationship.
“We have been partners for some years now,” says Grobler. “We are very excited about the way our partnership has evolved. Oracle's roots run deep through all of Bytes Technology Group, from Bytes Systems Integration, which delivers many aspects of Oracle's solutions set, to some of our sister companies, which have deployed Oracle ERP.
“We are able to offer Oracle training in Johannesburg, Cape Town, as well as on-site. We can only see our partnership deepening.”
“With the impending release of Oracle Solaris 11, we expect significant demand for our training offerings,” says Pieter Nel, business unit executive, IT Learning. “We are proud of our partnership with Oracle, and will continue building on the foundation we have created.”
