Bytes Systems Integration (SI) along with long-term partner Sun Microsystems have jointly secured the gold sponsorship of the ITWeb SOA Event, to be hosted at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg at the end of October.
In addition to the sponsorship, industry thought leader Winston Anderson, currently Chief Architect of Software Integration at Bytes SI will be hosting a session on SOA and open source - Accelerating time to value using a pragmatic open source model. The event is scheduled for 28 October 2008.
"It is a privilege to be able to share some of my insights at this prestigious conference and I am looking forward to this opportunity," says Anderson.
Winston Anderson has only recently returned from the halls of technology learning hub MIT, where he completed a week-long course titled Systems Engineering, Architecture and Lifecycle Design: Principles, Models, Tools and Applications. In addition to which Anderson has conducted both local and international training on the Sun SOA service offerings, and has been used by many top South African blue-chip companies to consult on how to effectively deploy SOA architecture.
SOA, or rather service-oriented architecture, is the latest trend in the IT industry, positioning itself as an IT infrastructure and systems development strategy that is designed to smooth business processes and integrate existing systems.
Some of the keynote speakers alongside Winston Anderson will include Cornelius Pone, principal analyst, PPC, presenting on using SOA and BPM together and Joe Ruthven, business development manager of IBM, who will give a presentation on building a business case for SOA.
Anderson will use the platform to share some of the valuable insights gleaned from MIT with his South African audience at the conference. The SOA event is designed to provide delegates with practical insights on the implementation and development of SOA technology within an organisation. Delegates can also anticipate thought provoking case studies and informative SOA success stories.
"Bytes Systems Integration is proud to be a sponsor of this event as it provides a high level platform from which to engage with customers, industry peers and thought leaders alike. We look forward to working with our long-term business partner Sun Microsystems in taking a united message to delegates," ends Mark Neethling, divisional manager, Software Integration at Bytes SI.
