As a leading provider of innovative technology solutions, Bytes SI has to ensure it stays one step ahead when servicing its customers. Increasing staff numbers as well as growing industry demands created a need for a new improved IP-based communication solution.
The new system will not only synchronise telephone lines through a single network, but will also successfully reduce costs and provide continual business benefits within the organisation.
"When dealing with our customers, we need to ensure that they have the best possible experience with our company. That said, Bytes Systems Integration (SI) is practising what we preach, and we have introduced a new advanced unified IP telephony system, similar to those we sell to our customers, for improved customer engagement and communication.
"The system is testimony to how effectively an advanced unified IP telephony system will improve cost-efficiencies, employee productivity, enhance unified communications, and ultimately improve the overall business experience," says Patrick Hastings, divisional director for Advanced Technology Services (ATS) at Bytes SI.
Business and technology goals
Gary Lailvaux, divisional managing director for the ATS division of Bytes SI, states: "I feel that the upgrade is necessary for us to further improve our communication to all stakeholders within our business, as Bytes SI needs to take advantage of unified communications. While this brings a single, consolidated communications channel within our direct internal mediums, it also enriches our offerings to our customers in our hosted IPT environment."
The aim of the solution is to implement a reliable company communications system that will provide visibility into the overall system. Administrative functions now include: availability, schedules and the geographical presence of primary decision-makers and main players, all in real-time.
Bytes SI customers are used to, and consistently demand the highest standard of service. With its new communications solution, Bytes will continuously provide excellent customer service through ongoing proof of concepts (POC). The new system will enable Bytes staff to efficiently, cost-effectively, and productively improve the effectiveness and reliability of future communication with clients.
Solution
The solution involves the implementation of new hardware and software to host the installation of the new Cisco Unified Communications system, and will play host to more than 300 users in the first phase.
Through using the Cisco IP telephone solution, Bytes SI will experience improved business agility, self-sufficiency, least-cost routing and improved productivity for users.
The upgraded solution is designed to provide complete access to Bytes SI branches and points of presence nationally. The proposed solution will also offer Bytes SI a feature-rich communications solution that offers secure, open systems, flexible robust deployment, least cost-routing and improved customer relations.
Conclusion
"Without question, the Internet Protocol (IP) has become the defacto standard for integrated quad play services, namely the convergence of voice, video, data and mobile/fixed-line services. We continually promote the advantages and benefits of a converged communications infrastructure to our customers; therefore it was imperative that we can demonstrate these benefits that we as an organisation personally derive from these solutions. While at the same time ensuring improved internal and external customer relations," ends Hastings.
