Bytes Systems Integration (Bytes SI), which designs, implements and manages IT solutions built on the best global technology available, has been appointed as a core value-added reseller by Sithabile Technology Services, a data protection and data management solutions provider. In terms of the partnership, the two companies will jointly identify and pursue business opportunities in the South African and African markets. Bytes SI will also have access to consulting, training, hardware, software and specialist technical expertise from Sithabile.
To add value to its solutions, Bytes SI will resell the portfolio of products offered by Sithabile to both its extensive current and new customer base, complementing the existing relationships. Bytes Cloud Services will offer online cloud hosted backups using Sithabile's EVault software, a solution already rolled out by RealTime Bytes in Zimbabwe, and will also be extended to include a virtual DR offering. Furthermore, Bytes SI will be able to leverage Sithabile specialisations and certification with the various international backup, archive, storage management and availability vendors.

Sithabile's data protection and data management solutions combine consulting and engineering expertise with hardware and software technologies that meet the requirements for regulatory compliant backup, recovery and archiving solutions from edge to core using the most advanced technologies available today.

The agreement enables Bytes SI to offer customers the ability to protect data on a remote laptop or mobile device and to fulfil the data protection requirements of the applications hosted in the data centre, all under a single management and reporting console. The current Bytes Cloud managed infrastructure will be further enhanced to provide data protection and data recovery capabilities, managed within the cloud.
