John Taylor, MD at Bytes Technology East Coast (BTN East Coast), a member of the Altron-owned Bytes Technology Group, served dessert to disadvantaged youngsters at the recent East Coast Radio/ Cell C Toy Story 2003 Toy Story compassionate care campaign.
Held at the Kingsmead Cricket stadium in Durban during December, the campaign reached out to 15 000 underprivileged children, some of whom are also HIV/AIDS victims.
Taylor says BTN East Coast decided that instead of handing out corporate gifts at the end of the year, the company would use the funds to bring relief to underprivileged children from the greater Durban area. "Based on the success of the project, we have decided that it will become an annual event and I am grateful to our staff and their families for assisting with manning the dessert tables."
He added: "We would like to take this opportunity of thanking our co-sponsors Bytes Document Solutions (formerly Xerox SA), Altron, Nestle and Amalgamated Beverages Industries (ABI) for their valued support and contribution towards this worthy cause."
