CA announced, at its CA World 2008 conference in Las Vegas, that it is acquiring Eurekify, a company it calls a pioneer in identity and role management. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to CA, the acquisition will strengthen its leadership in identity and access management, bringing new role-based identity and compliance management under its security software portfolio.
"By bringing together two leaders in identity management, CA`s acquisition of Eurekify is transforming the market dynamics in that highly-fragmented sector," commented Dave Hansen, corporate senior VP and GM of CA Security Management.
Hansen says the acquisition is CA`s second in the security space in the past two months, following its purchase of IDFocus, in October. He says both acquisitions, in conjunction with the company`s organically developed solutions, will boost CA`s strength in the growing security market.
According to Hansen, CA has collaborated with Eurekify over the past few months on the integration and sale of Eurekify technology. "The combined solution aims to address a growing need in the market for a new generation of identity and access management solutions that are business-centric."
He says this acquisition will allow CA to deliver better product integration and facilitate ongoing development of products, especially those products that aid role-based, business-driven identity management and access control.
"We`re proud to be joining the Security Management team at CA. The breadth and depth of CA`s product portfolio offers multiple opportunities for Eurekify technology integration and development," said Ron Rymon, founder of Eurekify. "The entire Eurekify team looks forward to contributing to CA`s future innovations that help customers manage the identity lifecycle for improved security and help address compliance with a variety of regulations."
The deal is expected to be finalised by the end of November. CA says Eurekify`s operations will be integrated into its business.
