(CA) has announced that its DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS solutions will provide same-day support for DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, Version 7 when the IBM database management system becomes generally available on March 30. CA`s suite of integrated tools enable database administrators to manage complex DB2 UDB Server for OS390 and z/OS environments that optimize performance and availability.
CA Solutions for DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS (http://www.ca.com/products/db2) include performance monitoring and analysis, backup and recovery, database administration, and data availability with fast utilities. These solutions are included among the 180 CA products that IBM Global Services is including for worldwide distribution to the IBM SystemPac offering.
According to a recent Gartner Group report, "Database management tools of the kind CA provides are crucial to optimizing the performance of mainframe applications and ensuring that users have access to information when and where they need it.
