Computer Associates Africa (CA) has appointed DynaTech, the KwaZulu-Natal-based systems integrator, as an implementation partner.
DynaTech, established in 2004 by former employees of the IT department of Tongaat-Hulett Sugar, is well acquainted with CA products and has invested heavily in skilling its key staff on CA Unicenter and other solutions.
"DynaTech has also invested in training on CA`s eTrust threat management security solutions, with a focus on CA Vulnerability Manager, which enables it to perform vulnerability scans as a service to its customers," says CA field partner manager (Coastal), Greg Williams.
"In addition, DynaTech has assisted CA by providing local KwaZulu-Natal-based delivery capability skills necessary to implement the CA Unicenter Service Desk service management solution in the province."
With offices in Empangeni, La Lucia and SmartXchange (Durban), DynaTech is a growing company with an expanding client base, says executive director Ntokozo Xaba.
"DynaTech has concluded strategic business partnership agreements with a number of IT companies in KZN, including IBM, Cisco, Novell and Microsoft," he says.
"In addition to CA knowledge, we have a vast array of skills within the company including Unix, Linux, Netware, Windows, Cisco and 3Com. All staff members are experienced in their respective areas."
Xaba says DynaTech is a company that understands service levels and customer satisfaction. "Our skills base is our primary asset. It positions us to grow DynaTech into one of the major IT companies in KwaZulu-Natal."
He says there is significant scope for DynaTech`s skills in KwaZulu-Natal, particularly in government and quasi-government companies.
"We can expect our market to be driven by security concerns and the increasing adoption of international corporate governance standards - such as Sarbanes-Oxley - to strengthen the defences against spam, viruses, Trojans and other malware that most companies are subjected to on a daily basis."
Xaba says a combination of local and international regulatory requirements, together with the need to maximise companies` operational efficiency, will encourage IT departments to bring greater discipline to their service management processes.
"Change, incident and problem management have become particularly critical as IT seeks to become more proactive and better align its expenditures with business priorities in future."
Dynatech is also a member of the SmartXchange incubation programme, established to promote and support the region`s vision to be the technology hub of Africa.
SmartXchange is a technology innovation node and a small business incubation centre geared to provide a vehicle for promoting local ICT businesses, developing local ICT skills and creating an environment for attracting new ICT businesses into the region, while supporting local business initiatives.
Williams adds that DynaTech is a fully accredited broad-based economic empowerment (BEE) company with which CA is proud to be associated.
"Dynatech represents the type of empowerment company this country so desperately needs, with top class skills, considerable experience and a professional approach that gives customers the confidence necessary to implement complex solutions."
