Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced a strategic partnership with Gibraltar-based Ecom Limited (Ecom), a specialist in complex Web hosting facilities, under which the companies will build one of the world`s most secure hosting networks.
The network will be built utilising Ecom`s infrastructure and communications expertise and CA`s eBusiness management solution, Unicenter TNG, and the company`s security product suite, eTrust. Ecom`s initial network will be situated in Gibraltar and Ireland and be based on Sun Microsystems servers. Additionally Ecom is planning other locations in other parts of Europe.
Ecom will offer a complete Web hosting facility, providing 99.99% availability under its Service Level Agreement, and will provide a global content delivery infrastructure. Customers will not only have the advantages of using the wide range of hosting services offered by Ecom, they will also enjoy eBusiness management and security solutions from CA. Although the main thrust of the Ecom network is to provide the highest level and quality of service available, companies will have the added benefit of being able to select between several Ecom locations.
CA has consulted with Ecom from the start, helping the company create its infrastructure as well as providing the security software and infrastructure management tools required to maintain its clients` businesses.
In addition, Ecom contracted with CA`s Education Division to deliver full staff training through its E-Training Programme. Ecom employees will be trained on all the required components for Web hosting, including those involving non-CA products.
