By Computer Associates Africa
Johannesburg, 28 Mar 2001

Computer Associates International, Inc. has announced a major mobile eBusiness initiative, in partnership with leading technology providers, that enables rapid and secure deployment, management, and integration of enterprise applications for systems and devices-including WAP gateways, laptops, PDAs and -enabled phones.

Through the initiative, Aether Systems, Inc., Motorola, Inc., Nokia Corp. and Soft Design A/S have entered into agreements with CA to market solutions for mobile computing that are integrated with CA eBusiness management . CA and EDS have expanded their existing relationship that includes EDS providing customized solutions and implementation services to support the initiative.

The wireless extension of enterprise resources to field sales staffs, partners, customers and suppliers improves individual and team productivity, enables real-time information update and access, eliminates missed business opportunities, and extends eBusiness information and transaction services to customers.

Customized mobile applications based on CA`s eBusiness infrastructure management solutions will be brought to market by select system integrators such as EDS. These integrators will also leverage CA`s world-class eBusiness information and process management offerings to make flexible, extensible mobile applications available to users, anywhere at any time.

CA made the announcement today at CeBit in Hannover, Germany, and CTIA eBusiness Management 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
