Computer Associates has urged PC users to take the necessary precautions against Win32.Nachi.A - also known as Welchia or Nachi.
This Internet worm, which has already paralysed many corporate networks, attempts to patch the Windows security hole that the malicious Win32.Poza (Blaster or Lovsan) worm exploits to access systems.
CA`s Virus Information Centre advises that in order to avoid Nachi infection or re-infection, it is vital that users patch their machines. Systems running Windows XP, 2000 and NT 4.0 are vulnerable. Click here to download the relevant patch.
Despite Nachi`s good intentions, spreading "good" worms can also be hazardous to companies` systems.
