Entitled "Worldwide IT Asset Management Software 2004-2008 Forecast and 2003 Vendor Shares: It was a Very Good Year", the report said worldwide IT asset management revenue reached $890.3 million in 2003, up 14.6 percent from the prior year. IDC projects the market to grow to $1.25 billion in 2008. IT asset management software is used to inventory and administer IT hardware and software resources.
