Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2008

CA today announced that CA Records Manager received a "Strong Positive" - the highest possible rating - in Gartner's 2008 "MarketScope for Records Management."*

CA was one of 11 vendors evaluated in the report. CA Records Manager, part of CA's comprehensive Information Governance solution, automates record-keeping processes to help users gain faster access to information, save time and money and facilitate compliance with regulatory, legal and business requirements.

According to the report, Gartner estimates the worldwide records management market to be approximately $400 million in software licence and maintenance revenue in 2007, an increase of 30% from 2006. This market is forecasted to have a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25% between 2008 and 2013.

"We believe Gartner's 'Strong Positive' rating for CA Records Manager confirms the value that enterprises worldwide gain from our federated, infrastructure-agnostic approach," said Galina Datskovsky, Ph.D., CRM, senior vice-president and general manager of Information Governance at CA.

"CA Records Manager allows customers to leverage their existing investments by providing flexible and cost-effective management and discovery of physical and electronic content across all leading infrastructures, e-mail platforms and storage technologies. The integration of CA Records Manager with CA Message Manager and archiving technologies creates a comprehensive Information Governance solution to help control information throughout the enterprise."

CA Records Manager is the first records management application to be certified by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) against version 3 of the US DoD 5015.2 standard, which provides for greater data security and integrity. According to Gartner, The DOD 5015.2 has become the de facto benchmark for records management products, particularly in the US.
