Cape-based specialist database consultants Database Approach (DBA) has been signed as a Computer Associates business partner, and will focus on Ingres, Opal and Jasmine products. DBA Managing Director Martin Rennhackkamp confirmed the appointment and said that, as a specialist Ingres consultant since 1989, his organisation had an ideal skills set to bring to the reseller market. "We were seeing more and more sales opportunities as the Ingres, Opal and Jasmine markets expanded, and this prompted us to move beyond offering only consultancy services. Our technical expertise with these products will bring a great deal of added value to our world-wide customer set," he said. DBA, a Certified Ingres Consultant since the products first entry into the market, now has Computer Associates International Certification, allowing the organisation to serve as a Value Added Reseller. Its current customer base includes such organisations as Telkom and Portnet, with Shoprite and Rex Truform as customers in the private sector.
