Computer Associates International (CA) has announced the beta release of the COOL:2E Web Option, a product for extending high-value iSeries and AS/400 applications to the Web without burdensome re-coding or re-architecting.
By simplifying the Web-enablement of existing iSeries and AS/400 applications and business logic, COOL:2E Web Option reduces customers` total e-business development costs and enables them to accelerate time-to-market.
COOL:2E Web Option is the latest addition to CA`s software portfolio for E-business Information Management. The introduction of COOL:2E Web Option expands the capabilities of CA`s COOL:2E application development tool for iSeries and AS/400 and will be instrumental in protecting customers` existing software and hardware investments. More than 45 000 developers around the world use COOL:2E, making it one of the most widely used iSeries and AS/400 application development tools.
"One of the most effective strategies for maximising e-business ROI is to fully leverage existing IT assets," said Wasim Ahmad, vice president, application development solutions, CA. "This makes COOL:2E Web Option a compelling option for the large number of corporate IT departments that have spent the last decade developing applications for the iSeries and AS/400."
COOL:2E Web Option:
