At the recent Woolworths Partner Day for 2011, CA Southern Africa won the ITS Strategic Partner of the Year award, along with IBM.
The theme for this year's Woolworths Partner Day was “Sustainable Partnerships”, and CA has proved its abilities during a long-term engagement with Woolworths.
Woolworths uses CA's Service Desk and Service Catalogue to deliver the highest possible level of support to its customers, and CA's involvement with the retail group demonstrates deep understanding of the business process and needs of the client.

Woolworths Head of Technology and Service - Nirvani Dhevcharran, says Woolworths uses a scorecard to measure the strategic and operational value that their partners deliver.
“CA Southern Africa has had a relationship with Woolworths for about six years and the nature of the involvement has continued to evolve. They are now one of our key strategic and operational enablers, of a critical tool in our area.
“In the evaluation this year, CA has proven that they understand the Woolworths IT roadmap and strive to constantly ensure they are aligned with it and deliver to it. CA truly lives the concept of partnership and has further ensured that our onsite resources are always up-skilled on the tool set,” says Dhevcharran.
Van der Berg points out what the award shows in practical terms.
“The award is a great honour,” he says. “But what it really shows is how a long-term engagement with a client, run by skilled and dedicated staff, can produce impressive results for all parties involved. We look forward to further work with the Woolworths group, as we are closely involved in future plans for improving systems and services,” concludes Van der Berg.
