CA World kicks off in Las Vegas

CA began its 13th annual CA World conference, at the Venetian Congress Center, in Las Vegas today.

With over 6 000 IT professionals, from 70 countries, CA World aims to help delegates to maximise their organisations` IT abilities by using CA software. It also covers new solutions and best practices to help delegates govern, manage and secure their IT environments.

The five-day event featuring over 800 conference sessions. CA says they include hands-on product training, best practices and tips delivered from CA`s customers, key and CA`s own knowledge experts.

CA says the centre infrastructure for the event was pre-staged in New York and then assembled on the show floor in under 48 hours.

"It includes over 20 servers, six routers, 20 switches, 200 hubs and 800 desktops," says the company. "In addition, there are 40 access points, 50 000 feet of network cable, 14 000 feet of fibre and two UPS units in the data centre."

Other conference highlights will include a channel partner symposium, free pre-conference education classes for registered attendees, an exhibition centre with CA and partner solutions on display, technical compounds and a lounge area for networking.

John Swainson, CA CEO will deliver the opening keynote, followed by a guest keynote by Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric.
