California employers file online

Employers, payroll agents, multi-state employers, and payroll software vendors are now able to file their Form DE 6, Quarterly Wage and Withholding Report, over the Internet, using the new Fed/State Employment Taxes (FSET) programme, reports CCH.

Several states, the IRS, and software vendors developed FSET to provide a standardised method for reporting federal and state employment tax and wage reports in XML.

Once approved by EDD to file by FSET, payroll agents and software vendors can elect to be added to the list of approved FSET software providers.
