Entries for the 2006 Construction New Media Awards (CNMA), a multimedia design competition, close in three weeks - on 10 February.

Hosted by Interactive Africa, CNMA offers a week`s trip to London for the winner of the Grand Prix prize, says Interactive Africa`s Andrew Robertson, project manager for the CNMA.

"The competition is divided into five categories - online, offline, motion graphics, advertising and promotion, and a student category," he adds.

Competition judges will then select a Grand Prix winner from the five category winners, who will have the opportunity to work with one of the judges for a week in London.

Robertson expects about 150 entries for the 2006 competition, which directly follows the three-day Design Indaba in Cape Town.

Last year`s winner, Suburban Magazine, was a flash-based offline product that drew rich acclaim, he notes.

He says the competition aims to "celebrate the status of new media design, and credit those producing interactive work that`s both creative and functional".

To enter, visit the competition Web site. The presentation of the prizes will take place on 23 February at the Cape Town Convention Centre.
