Experienced security personnel from Callguard Security Services (Callguard) are now empowered a great deal more than simply guarding the perimeter of a premises.

As a result of a partnership with ATEC Systems and Technologies (ATEC), Callguard is an official reseller of ATEC's security solutions to help provide a comprehensive, technology-reinforced security service empowering security personnel with next-generation access control and visitor management technology.

ATEC's core focus areas are telecoms and security. Telecoms: covering telecommunications networks within estates, business parks and buildings. The offering includes VOIP, telephone and fax, Internet connectivity and IPTV. Security solutions incorporate access control solutions and integrated visitor management systems.

"Verification of identity for access control purposes over a wireless or fibre infrastructure is at the very heart of what we specialise in," explains Louis Parker, CEO of ATEC.

For example, Parker and his team have developed a comprehensive visitor access control solution referred to as their "book in a box" that is already used at several residential estates, business parks and logistics companies.

Callguard is an owner-run and -managed business positioned to provide security services to corporate, commercial, retail and industrial clients.

The company has a footprint in Johannesburg (head office), KwaZulu-Natal, Cape Town and Middleburg. Callguard's services are provided in the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as certain residential security and asset protection to the executives of businesses that form part of the client base.

Its operating divisions include traditional security officers, technical installation and maintenance, exception-based off-site monitoring, and employee/client background screening.

Executive management at ATEC believe the two companies represent a powerful fit and that their respective service offerings complement each other.

"We wanted to align ourselves with a service provider that understands the industry, that has the resources, expertise and knowledge to add value to the roll out of our solutions," says Parker.

Lance Quiding from Callguard says: "Callguard has already achieved a great deal of success in entrenching our strategy through partnering with the ATEC technology.

"We will continue to support and endorse the quality of ATEC technology and solutions as part of our overall strategy," said Quiding.
