Camsoft has announced the launch of MicroWorld`s MailScan for Linux product to the Linux community of SA.
With its increasing popularity, Linux is grabbing its own share of malicious Internet attacks and the new highly advanced software from MicroWorld will not only perform the scanning of all incoming and outgoing SMTP/POP3 e-mails for viruses and spam, but also all the attachments will be scanned at the gateway level itself ensuring that not even a single bad content is delivered to the user`s mailbox.
The software also has the intelligence to look into the compressed attachments and block the whole attachment even if a single file is found to be suspicious. This feature makes the software capable of fighting the wildest attacks like MyDoom and Bagle. As an advancement and precautionary measure, the software has been developed in a manner to scan the attachment even if the files have been doubly zipped.
The anti-spam feature of the software ensures that no irritating advertisements or e-mails from pre-specified e-mail addresses are delivered to the user`s mailbox. All e-mails considered to be spam by the system are marked spam and delivered to the specific folder so that the user can read through these e-mails at his convenience and does not lose any important information.
Another interesting product to be launched during the show is X-Spam, a dedicated product to fight spam. For users wanting to scan their Internet traffic for nothing more than spam, X-Spam is the ideal product. "Loss of productivity due to spam is one of the most important concerns of business houses including SMEs, SOHOs and all the big corporates. Looking at the concerns of the business houses we have come up with this highly intelligent and reliable product which offers the solution to tackle spam effectively," says Sunil Kriplani, Vice-President- International Sales and Marketing.
Camsoft will also showcase the award-winning products, eScan and MailScan, the world`s first real-time anti-virus and content security products for desktops, file servers, Citrix servers and mail servers. Working on revolutionary MicroWorld Winsock Layer Technology, the products from MicroWorld fight and disinfect the malicious Internet threats much before they hit the user`s system. Even in the case of virus outbreaks for which no vaccine is available, the users of software from MicroWorld do not need to worry, as any suspected material is quarantined and not delivered to the user`s inbox until and unless further instructions are issued.
eScan, the winner of various security awards, including VB 100% and best content security and anti-virus product (by VAR magazine) not only performs the heuristic scanning of Internet traffic for viruses but also for malicious content. This highly effective, user-friendly and scalable product has helped many organisations worldwide in increasing their productivity by offering:
