Canadian SMEs covered for disaster

Bell and Geminare have partnered to bring Canadian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) a business continuity service, according to PR Newswire.

The solution will ensure continuous availability of applications and data, even in the event of a critical systems failure or disaster.

The Bell Business Continuity Service trumps current simple online backup solutions in the market with an advanced solution, previously only available on custom built enterprise-class dedicated hardware and software systems.

Data centre managed services unveiled

GlobeOp Financial Services is now offering managed services in hosted centres for hedge funds and other data-sensitive organisations challenged by increasing requirements and costs for business continuity and disaster recovery, reports ICFA Magazine.

Hosted and platform services are located primarily in GlobeOp's production centre in Yorktown Heights, New York.

A cornerstone of GlobeOp's active-active IT infrastructure, the facility is specifically designed to meet the demanding real-time operational, network, scale and resiliency needs of global financial services clients.

Fast Track protects e-mails

Sports marketing agency, Fast Track, has invested in e-mail continuity technology to avoid potential losses of £8 000 an hour, reports ComputerWeekly.

Fast Track employees rely heavily on e-mail to manage marketing activities from contract negotiations with sports event sponsors to selling TV rights to broadcasters worldwide.

"We wanted our teams in SA to be independent and unaware of any disruptions to IT operations in London," says Magnus Leask, IS director at Fast Track.
