Canon South Africa has introduced its new SmartBase range of flatbed multifunctional devices, representing its entrance into two new market segments. This complete range of five compact and sophisticated new products includes both colour Bubble Jet as well as black and white laser models, featuring varying combinations of Canon`s advanced print, fax, scan and copy capabilities.
With such a wide variety of capabilities and vast array of highly advanced features, the range of SmartBase models is designed to meet the versatile document communication needs of any small or home office environment.

This new range includes two separate segments, the SmartBase MPC series and the SmartBase PC series, to meet the versatile and demanding needs of the modern small office and home office environment.
The SmartBase MPC series features the following two fully-featured models, which represent Canon`s entrance into the full-colour all-in-one flatbed market: SmartBase MPC600F and SmartBase MPC400.
While the SmartBase PC series represents Canon`s expansion into the digital personal copier arena and includes the following three models: SmartBase PC1270D, SmartBase PC1230D and SmartBase PC1210D.
By combining multiple fully-featured office machines in the space of one unit, with one cable and only one driver installation, each model within the SmartBase range will enable users to dramatically improve overall efficiency while drastically reducing costs and workspace required.
The entire SmartBase range is based on advanced Canon technologies, including the award-winning print engine of the S630 Bubble Jet printer, which has been incorporated into the MPC models, as well as the unique all-in-one cartridge system found in the new PC models. By incorporating such technologies, Canon`s SmartBase range is enabling users to select a model, which will effectively and efficiently fulfil their specific working requirements while providing them with the optimal balance of high-quality and high-speed results.
The MPC600F will arrive in SA in early June 2002 and the remaining four models in the SmartBase line-up will arrive in SA in the two months after this.
