The CanoScan FS4000US features a new dual light source, a high luminance cold cathode fluorescent lamp combined with a brightness feedback control ensures stable light levels for repeatability. A secondary infrared light source detects dust and scratch damage on the original film media and is a core component of the new `FARE` dust and scratch removal technology.
Original film media is highly vulnerable to dust and scratches. Canon has developed a new technology `FARE`, that minimises the effects of these flaws in scanned image data. Canon`s new `FARE` technology uses infra-red scanning to detect and quantify imperfections in the original film media. `FARE` then uses a software process to accurately remove flaws; guaranteeing superior quality scans.
For maximum performance compatibility and ease of use the CanoScan FS4000US features dual SCSI and USB interfaces. For maximum data transfer and performance the fast SCSI-2 interface can be used with an industry standard SCSI adapter card. The USB interface offers simple installation for all modern Windows and Macintosh computers.
When scanning negatives and APS film, automated film handling and batch scanning speeds up the process considerably, but the CanoScan FS4000US also batch scans mounted 35mm film in groups of four! Up to 40 frames from an APS film, 6 frames from a 35mm film strip or 4 mounted 35mm slides can be accommodated with the special adapters. Converting your entire collection of film images into a new digital photo archive is quick and simple.
The CanoScan FS4000US is partnered by Adobe`s industry standard PhotoShop 5.0 LE and Canon`s new FilmGet FS drivers for both PC and Macintosh computers a combination that simply excels.
