Canon SA has announced the launch of the new L280, a Super G3 connectable laser fax, which further expands its reliable market leading range of laser fax machines. "With its remarkably large memory, this new machine provides users with convenient, discreet and worry-free faxing," says Michelle Janse van Vuuren, Product Manager for Faxes at Canon SA.
The L280 features a Super G3 (33.6kbps) modem, enabling it to send a page in just three seconds (*). It also incorporates Canon`s own high quality Laser Beam print engine, which is capable of 6ppm print speed and extremely high quality image output of 600dpi. With its printer interface, the L280 can also be used as a backup printer at minimal cost.
This new laser fax machine has an exceptionally large standard fax page memory of 448 pages. With a memory of this size, sending multi-page documents to different locations is very easy to handle, and receiving faxes is safe and worry free. The 24 one-touch dials also help make the L280 and easy to use tool in the office.
For further enhanced convenience, the L280 also incorporates a host of useful features such as its U-paper path, toner detection and low noise level.
The U-paper path allows the paper to be printed out at the top of the machine, a unique feature that enables correct order collation of documents. This means that the incoming document prints face down and when you collect the fax from the machine all the pages are in the correct order. The U-paper path feature not only reduces hassle and saves time, it also makes the L280 even more compact, therefore requiring significantly less installation space.
With the incorporation of a toner detection feature, there is always advance warning when the toner cartridge is nearing empty. This enables users to avoid many inconvenient situations by ensuring there is no sudden or unexpected end to the toner. The low noise level enables the machine to operate efficiently and effectively, at the same time maintaining a discreet presence in any office.
"The new L280 builds on the success of its predecessor, the best-selling L250," says Janse van Vuuren, "and with a Super G3 modem and huge memory, the L280 offers impressive Laser Fax features at an extremely reasonable price level - providing the customer with outstanding cost performance."
