Canon unveils Pixma Pro-1 inkjet printer
Tech Crunch writes.
Along with photo and matte black inks, there are three grey inks - dark grey, grey and light grey - and six colour inks, including cyan, photo cyan, magenta, photo magenta, yellow and red. The printer also comes with a Chroma Optimiser, which is meant to add richness to blacks and uniformity to glossiness.
According to Pop Photo, the Pro-1 offers two paper feed options: a traditional feed, located on the top of the printer, and a manual feed, located behind the printer. The manual feed is perfect for fine-art printing, especially on non-standard types and sizes of photo paper.
No word just yet on when the Canon Pixma Pro-1 will be available; however, it will retail for $1 000.
Digital Arts reports that the Pixma Pro-1 ships with the Easy-PhotoPrint Pro software. This runs as a plug-in for Photoshop and Canon's Digital Photo Professional software, as well as a standalone tool.
The printer can also automatically select the correct ICC profile for each Canon paper, and an expanded range of ICC profiles is available for fine art papers from other manufacturers.
The Pixma Pro-1 has USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports.
