Capgemini combines BPM activities
CIOL.
Capgemini says this will contribute to its growth programme. The company will work with partners such as Oracle and Pegasystems, initially focusing on key markets across Europe and the US.
According to Automotive IT, Engbert Verkoren, global leader for Capgemini's BPM service line, says BPM has matured and now makes it possible to help companies improve through technology. “Organisations can now simplify their complex business models.”
The company noted that demand for BPM is rising as organisations face rapidly evolving market conditions, global competition, changing legislation, and economic pressures.
It cited studies from market researcher Gartner that valued the global BPM market at $1.9 billion in 2009, growing to $3.4 billion by 2014.
Michele Cantara, research VP at Gartner, says many companies struggle with both cultural and organisational challenges when shifting from an application-centric to a process-centric approach to business process improvement. She adds they often turn to enterprise service providers for help, reports Consultants News.
She explains that as BPM becomes a mainstream approach to improving processes, organisations seek larger enterprise service providers to support global roll-out of BPM solutions.
“Increasingly, these buyers are also looking to enterprise service providers for solution accelerators or process templates to automate the process gaps between applications,” adds Cantara.
