e-Coupons tighten competition
Iowa may soon have two kinds of shoppers: those that pay regular price, and those that regularly use the Internet, states Des Moines Register.
As the holiday season approaches, three major companies have started electronic marketing campaigns in Des Moines in the past month aimed at building tighter connections to tech-savvy consumers. Never before have so many tried so hard to give consumers such convenient coupons.
"We're in our second year of really aggressively going after the value-conscious shopper with special deals and promotions," said Ruth Comer, a Hy-Vee spokeswoman. "It creates an excitement for the consumers. It also helps us go after the best deals" with suppliers.
