Capitalising on its vision, NetActive forms an alliance with Johnnic`s I-Net Bridge

Johannesburg, 17 Oct 2000

NetActive Business Services, the Services division of JSE-listed NetActive, announced today that it has formed an alliance with I-Net Bridge, South Africa`s leading supplier of online financial and business information and e-commerce services. This agreement will enable NetActive to provide a value-added business information to small and medium businesses (SME`s) called NetInfo.

NetInfo, the co-branded I-Net Bridge Service, which is to be launched on 18 October, is an integrated business portal for online news, financial data and business information and can be tailored to meet business` information requirements.

I-Net Bridge will provide and manage the content, e-commerce tools and systems of the new business portal, whilst NetActive will support the infrastructure and client base.

"Information is key to any business, as long as it is relevant. Our alliance with I-Net Bridge addresses this fundamental need, enabling us to provide customised information services to SMEs," explains NetActive CEO, Lawrence Brick. "NetInfo will provide our clients with real-time, value-added interactive services, including the coverage of breaking news and reporting of activities in the financial and business markets, both locally and abroad, as well as providing access to strategic electronic tools."

The I-Net Bridge alliance is in line with NetActive`s strategy to enter into strategic alliances and partnerships with companies that have a strong presence on the Web.

This arrangement enhances the company`s spread of quality services, endorsing the Business Services division`s objective of becoming the leading provider of enablement services and technologies for the growing number of small and medium businesses looking towards the Internet as a business enhancement tool.

"The alliance presents an opportunity for both companies to extend and promote their services in attracting new business," states Sandy Purbrick, Deputy MD of I-Net Bridge. "NetActive has a loyal, well researched client base, who have indicated their need for business intelligence, e-commerce services as an essential driver in succeeding in a challenging, competitive environment."

I-Net Bridge is the B2B e-Commerce arm of Johnnic, South Africa`s leading media, entertainment and telecoms group, and has established itself the e-hub for all SA business. I-Net Bridge offers a comprehensive online service covering most disciplines of the e-commerce arena, from financial investment information to e-Trading.

This year has seen NetActive Business Services extend its product range and develop additional high margin services to increase revenues from existing and future customers, and is well on its way to become the provider of choice in Internet services and technologies.
